I had a great day at the Salt Lake Half Marathon. The only downside was that I got passed in the last couple miles by another masters runner. Anyway, the 1:15:31 that I ran today was significantly faster than the 1:18:06 I ran last year. I ran virtually the entire race alone. It would have been nice to have had a group of guys to work with. My kids with their cow bell really helped at two or three points along the way.

My splits..

5:18 (stupid), 5:44, 5:42, 5:34, 5:47, 5:49 (1.06 miles), 5:38, 5:49, 5:47, 5:56, 5:50, 6:23, 5:43 (last 1.1)

I ran seven miles in 56 minutes when I got home.

Nice race Rob. Congrats on 6th over all. That is great. That mile 12 was a bugger wasn't it? I lost more then minute going up that stretch. All in all though, a very fun run. Congrats again.

Thanks everyone. Yeah Riley, I really lost focus on that 12th mile up State Street. I had about 10 minutes where I just stopped caring. I was able to snap out of it the last mile though.Oh yeah, I was seventh overall. Just changed that.

Awesome job Rob! That first mile may have been stupid but it sure was fast, great race and you still managed more miles afterward for a 20+ day.

Nice job again Rob. I think I need to come over to one of your Alta practices to get some tips. I run on that Track alot and obviously you know your stuff.
