AM: 10 mile bike ride at Sugar House Park during practice.

PM: 5 miles around Liberty Park. I also stopped neglecting my neglected striders. 6 of them.

I went into school today and told them that this would be my last year coaching. 22 years is a long time but the main reason is that I'm not getting kids, especially girls out for cross country anymore. I'm not connecting with kids the way I used to. It's also true that coaching cross country, especially the way it's done in Utah, is becomming a full time job and I'm just running out of energy. Maybe after a 2 or 3 year break I'll feel like doing it again.

Wow. Thanks for that Eva!

Wow, big change in your life.

How can a HS cross country coach be a full time job? I'm assuming it doesn't pay that well.

Sorry about the frustration for you at work as well. You have poured your heart into your work and kids in XC. Wish I could hire you for here in IF...they need new coaches. IFHS only had 18 girls show up so far...several top runners are not running due to the coaches.

You do deserve a break to keep focus on yourself at times too.

Thanks Jeff. 18 is about twice the number I have.

I feel your pain Rob. My youngest son has more talent in his little finger at running than I ever did. Yet I can not get him interested in the least to give it a go. Hopefully a short break will turn things around for you.
