18.25 miles plus some fast striders at Liberty Park.

As usual on a warm Sunday, we had hippies in the drum circle, lots of tension between Polynesians and Mexicans with their dueling car stereos and pit bulls that was keeping the cops on mountain bikes busy. Fights over scarce parking spaces. That and the homeless overflow from Pioneer Park and you have lots to watch and keep your mind occupied.

I'm starting to feel pretty fit. Actually, I'm feeling faster and stronger than I have in years. Too bad I don't have a weekend until June where I can fit a race in. Probably good in the long run though.

African style. 4 month buildup, one race, knock it out of the park.

I wish we had more quality 5k's and 10k's and fewer half-marathons. That would serve my purposes better.

Blasphemy!!!

There are plenty of 5Ks... but they are all color / electric / mud runs. And not timed.

And local runs that are either 2.9 or 3.3 miles. The "race director" uses the odometer on his F-150 to measure the course.

I'm cracking up over the f-150 comment and people on the plane think I'm crazy.

Can you get one of those young fast gents to do a time trial with you? Or maybe a faster older gent (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)? Are people actually able to do time trials hard enough to mimic race effort?

Awesome to hear you are feeling strong! Perfect timing for the summer season.
