7.25 miles in The Gully. There are a million sunflower's along the trail.

Ate an apple after. I made a resolution to eat as many apples as bananas.

We're doing 9-11 stuff in class today. Kind of puts me in the same funk I was in on that day.

PM: 2 easy miles around Andy's baseball field up in The Avenues. More cemetary running.

Love apples this time of year. Especially when cooked in butter, sugar, and cinnamon within a flaky pastry shell.

I am thinking your students were born roughly in 1997-1998. Probably one of the last groups of students to have much (if any) memory of September 11 given that they were 3-5 at most. Of course this makes your job that much more important.

As for apples, I am waiting for the honey crisps to hit town. My favorite.

Yeah Bob! I am partial to Fuji and Gala, usually have one or two a day.

Justin (born in 1999) was glued to the TV this morning before school watching the new stories.

You're right Jason. They don't remember anything. Seems like current events to me but it's history to them.

The Honey Crisps are already in the market place here. They are expensive but really good..

I was a junior in high school, and I don't remember too much but I do remember as perhaps the first time that I realized the world was a very complex place. My first major political event if you will. I turned 18 just a few weeks before the invasion of Iraq and although the draft wasn't a real possibility, I was very nervous.

I guess that's why I'm writing about it in my dissertation.

Jason, what is the topic of your dissertation?

Not that it should take away the profound emotions of the day, but this is something I hope you saw: http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/video/the-replacements-alex-chilton/2811051

I did see that Vis! Was happy to see that Paul seems to be taking care of himself. Looks a lot better than most aging rockers don't you think?

Almost looks like a runner. What kind of 5k time do you think he has in him?
