One easy mile warming up and setting up cones for cross country practice in the gully. I'm sore everywhere from the lifting and hardish running yesterday. Might take the rest of the day off.

Close to fifty kids showed up for the first day of practice. Not bad at all and they seemed excited and ready to go.

Man, I'd love to do the first day of practice thing. Did you give them Bowermans purpose of running speech?

"Gentlemen, running seems like an absurd activity on which to be spending our time. But if you can find meaning in the kind of running that you will have to do to stay on this team, chances are you'll find some meaning in another absurd pastime - life."

How's that Steve?

I rented that and watched it Sunday after seeing those sections with you last week. That has to be my favorite quote of all time.

So what will you end with come fall for cross country?
