Arrived at the U Orthopedic Center at 6:40 AM for my surgery. Was rolled into the OR shortly before 8 where I was knocked out. Woke up shortly before 9 and was told that everything went great. Talked with the surgeon, Dr. Aoki and he seemed very happy with the procedure.

Ann and I went to Ruth's after for breakfast - banana walnut french toast. Came home and slept a good portion of the day and iced the knee periodically. Walking around the house, most of the knee pain I've felt the last several months seems to be gone. Hopefully, it'll be the same story once the pain killers wear off.

Still no running for at least a week. Here's to being back on the blog posting real workouts soon! Thanks so much to everyone who has encouraged me,

The bulk of the recovery takes only a week? That seems fast. Rest well. We want to see you running soon.

The tone of your voice when we spoke last night tells me this will be a big improvement! Awesome news and good to have this done as all the other excitement for the next month starts up.

All the best. I hope it's a quick (and full!) recovery.
