Today I had a great run with three of my ace middle distance runners on the Alta High Track Team (Go Hawks!) - Garrett Jones, Ryan Fuller, and Chris Cutler. We ran a 60 minute fartlek alternating four minutes of easy running with one minute of mile race pace running. According to my garmin I reached a max pace of 4:11/mile. Did a total of 8.4 miles for the 60 minutes.

Thanks Allie. I have to admit that I like cross country season a lot more. Something about Fall I guess. That and the fact that the meets are way less time consuming for a coach. The best thing for me is that it forces me to do workouts that I wouldn't otherwise do like fast 400s. Keeps me from slowing down too much as I get older.

Way to keep up with the youngsters!

As a runner I liked cross country better then track. Running around the track as never been fun from me. Good job running with the youngsters. In highschool I never had a track coach that could come even close to keeping up with us.
