I messed up my back lifting yesterday and it just got worse during the night. We'll see how it goes.

I surprised myself with a good run tonight. I'm really sore and achy from my lifting yesterday and maybe a little residual from Saturday's race. Just generally sore, achy, and beat up feeling. But Ann and the kids went to an activity at church tonight which I opted out of - giving me time to run. Ended up with a nice 10 miler feeling better each mile. Didn't ever dip below 7:45 pace, so a nice recovery run.

Perfect crisp, clear evening with a beautiful sunset. Wished I could have just kept running west.

Spent some time tonight looking at the blogs of lots of the people who used to post here daily and don't anymore. I know some of them still run, but for some others it seems like running was just filling a temporary void in their life. They were really into it and flamed out. Need to keep an even keel. Anyway, I miss lots of them.

One reason to come back to Gvl- you get far, far more snow days than you do in Utah. smh

I was checking out the weather earlier…a LOT colder in Greenville today. Maybe better skiing up in Boone than here too?

Rob, I have been on the blog for a shorter time than you, but I have noticed it has changed in the last two years. I hope some of those folks come back, or things ramp up a little on here in the coming months.

The skiing is not better in Boone than here. Ullr is mad at you for even suggesting that! :-)

I often find old blogs and think, what happened to them? I hate to think of time when I am not on the blog. I wouldn't be the runner I am without it. Of course, it's also a great place to goof off when you should be working. Which reminds me . . .

If given the choice between running or run-blogging, I would hope people would choose actually running. But it is nice to have a record if you have to time to do it, something to reflect back on. The other night Andrea and I were looking at our blog posts from Winter 2010-2011 on W&B and I was really glad that I took the time to document that season so well (who knows if we'll ever get one like that again?!) because it brought back a lot of really, really good memories.
