I wandered up to Jeremy Ranch at 8 AM hoping to bump into someone up there to do a longish run with. It figures that the one Saturday I can make it up in the last month there's nobody else there.

Pretty nice solo run though - 15 miles in 1:54. A bit faster than I normally do that run.

Had a pretty good meet for my boys last night. I should comment on the ridiculous improvement in high school XC in Utah over the past few years. The Murray Invitational is a good comparison because the course has remained standard and the weather is almost always the same.

In 2006 Davis won the meet with a combined team time of 1:25:04 and 89 points. My Alta team finished 3rd out of 30 teams with a team time of 1:27:20 and 136 points.

Fast forward to this year. Davis runs 1:21:40 and has to win on a 6th man tie-breaker. Their team score was in the 80s, virtually identical to what their 1:25 got them in 2006. My boys ran 1:25:53 to finish 8th out of 37 teams. We had 309 points!

My #1 runner, Kramer Morton finished FIFTH in 15:51.

In 2006 Luke Puskedra of Judge WON in 15:56.

I am so jealous of all this coaching! Must be a lot of fun seeing these kids hit it hard.

Sweet run too..

And tell Kramer that Luke P is a 1:01 half-marathoner now!

I'm on a mandatory 3-4 week hiatus from Jeremy Ranch and already having withdrawals!

The depth oh high school runners here in Utah is very impressive! Nice job from your team!

You doing Alta Peruvian today?

Thanks guys.

Jake - I intend to point that out to Kramer on Monday. Luke was a Junior in 06 - same as Kramer is now.

Of the top 13 runners yesterday, 11 were seniors. Only Kramer and Conner M are not. Conner finished third yesterday and got Kramer by a few seconds. It was a good battle.

No Alta Peruvian Andrea. Ann is working tonight and I just don't feel like risking the pounding.

Too bad because it's an awesomely fun race and a great time.

Great result for Kramer - very cool. Congrats, Coach!

We are going up to watch and spend the night - we inherited a free night up there from MarkP, who won his AG last year, but has been pacing Wasatch 100 so he can't go up tonight. Works for us! :-)

Jake - One of Kramer's goals yesterday was to beat every Davis runner and he did that. Davis and Alta are both 5A whereas Conner runs for a 3A team and won't be a threat to Kramer at the state meet.
