Hard trail run way up high in the mountains. If fact, I don't think I dropped below ten thousand feet for more than a couple miles.

Drove up to the top of Albion Basin and parked. Lots of running around there and over to Snowbird. Then across Catherine's Pass and down into Brighton and back. Lots of hard climbing. I was planning to go a bit more but, quite frankly, I was tired.

Trail running is so slow. I used to wonder why we have so many guys on this blog who log more mileage than the ultra runners on the blog. But it took me FOREVER to run 17 miles today. I think my fastest mile was 8:02. It drives me crazy to look at my Garmin and see 13 minute pace with my heart exploding out of my chest.

I'm going to have to make the mental adjustment.

Fall colors, dirt underneath your feet, crisp air (maybe a bit warm), bouncing over rocks, zooming downhill sections...admit it, you kind of liked it.

I did stop a couple times to look around and soak in the awesomeness. Definitely one of my runs that reminds me why I moved to Utah.

That's the spirit! You have a trail-runner inside you after all. Forget mileage, it means nothing! Those are great trails. Nice job

Thanks Cody. You know if you have to pull out of the Bear 100 and you start feeling better you could always join me and Steve for R2R2R in October.

Just throwin that out there.

Good to see you on the dirt.

Yeah, 20 mile road runs for me at sub-2:30. 20 mile trail runs are anywhere from 3 hrs to 5 hrs. Much slower. Much more enjoyable.

I agree. Sounds like a cool run though. Thanks for coming to the invite yesterday, always good to have you.

Nice run Rob. That's some seriously heart-pounding trail running up there at 10K feet.

Wow, love that kind of run. Wish I had been with you. I can't wait for the Grand Canyon. I'll be ready for it.

I think I would enjoy trail running a lot more that the road. I just don't have that kind of time. My goal is to still be running when I retire some day then I can do 8 hour trail runs every weekend.
