First day of vacation. Walked the kids to school this morning and then returned at 11:15 to eat lunch with Andy. He's been asking me to come eat lunch with him all year and we finally had a day where it worked out.

In between I walked to the gym and did a StairMaster workout. 400 floors in 54:30 plus warm-up.

GREAT NEWS!!!! I just got a free entry into the "Elite Field" at the Gary Bjorklund Half in Minnesota this summer. I knew that 33 minute 10k I ran at Des News this summer (wink, wink) would be be good for something!

A more light-hearted thread on lets run right now...

"Does anyone know exactly what time the world is supposed to end tomorrow? I'm trying to decide whether to run earlier or later."

Oh I saw it Jake. Talk about a tailor-made story for the lets run message board! I know what I'm going to be wasting my time on this afternoon.

On the positive side, she's clearly kept herself in shape since retiring!

yeah, no post-retirement +15.

And she's making more $$ than any track athlete other than Usain Bolt

Rob do you coach shirtless like Alberto?

From jtshad on Thu, Dec 20, 2012 at 15:58:56 from

Congrats on the elite entry.

Quite a sad and interesting story about Suzy, just dumbfounded really that someone who says they have their life together can lead such a second life.

Thanks Jeff. Nothing like a 5.9 mile 10k to get the comped entries.

The more I think about this story, the more troubling it is. I hope she can turn her life around, but I don't know.
