AM: Two mile walk while my kids were taking the AP Exam. I'm exiled from my classroom for much of the day so might as well go for a walk. I get nervous for them. Most of my students have worked very hard all year and deserve to do well.

PM: Pretty good workout. After fueling up mightily at Fong's Fine Chinese Dining in Draper ( General Tso's Chicken with fried rice, egg roll, 2 glasses of iced tea), I was ready to roll...

I did 4 X 1 mile with a quarter mile walk/jog interval. Splits were 5:48, 5:42, 5:39, 5:33.

Couple miles each for the warm-up and cool-down. This workout was done on the treadmill because it's way harder than the track or road.

For all of you dying to know, the topic of the DBQ on the AP Exam was the rise of abolitionism between 1776 and 1852.

Thanks, I was dying to know. I think I would have done better with that than the "feminist era" which was the topic in 1997.

Ahh, AP tests. That was a fun time. Many memories.

I will say, it was very nice when the tests were over and you had 2 weeks left of class with nothing really to do...

Yeah, It's Murphy's AP Film Festival from here on.

Look kids, there I am winning my first Marathon back in 1977.

I think that still counts as history.

Easy topic. You could just do a movie review of Django.

Nice workout today too. Track or road?

From Rob Murphy on Wed, May 15, 2013 at 19:56:18 from 24.10.249.165

I was only 12 in 1977 Rob!

I was sticking to one mile cross country races and AAU Track meets.

Jake - started at Snowbird and ran down to Tanner Flats. :) Finished at the 7-11 at the bottom of Little Cottonwood.

Why must you press me on these details!

I'm just curious!

If you did them on that route, they'd be like 4:38, 4:27, 4:15, 4:08.

From Rob on Wed, May 15, 2013 at 20:09:19 from 72.254.34.5

Which makes it even more impressive.

I was reading this today tooling across the country and knew I had to share it with you. In light of your barbershop fetish.

Nice workout, Rob.

Stalking your blog for evidence of that 20 miler...

Do you think the kids will have a different perspective now watching Tommy Lee Jones' Thaddeus Stevens in Lincoln. "Because of that dude, we got asked this on our AP exam!".
