Rob, I graduated from Clearwater High in 82. Did you ever run with the Batten brothers? Irving and I graduated together; David & Keith a few years after. I could never run with them as they were way too fast. I think Irv & Keith have both won the Midnight Run a time or two...

Yep, I grew up with the Batten's. We were in the same youth group at Calvary Baptist in Clearwater. Irv and I both went to college in South Carolina ( he at Charleston Southern, me at Furman) and we coached high school track there after graduating. So we would bump into each other quite a bit.

So you recognize my "won Dunedin vs. Gibbs dual meet" comment under my running accomplishments as the joke that it is? Their team was five guys in high tops, but it was my first win so I'll never forget it.
