Maybe the most miserable race I've ever run??? Cold, torrential rain, strong headwind. Suffering from hypothermia at the end. Pleased with time considering the conditions. I feel really bad for people on this blog who ran or are running the full.

My right knee and right hamstring were not cooperating after mile 5 and that kept me from pushing harder when my other body parts wanted to. I'll have to figure that out in future races this year. On a positive note, my hip felt great.

Splits - 6:28, 6:15, 6:08, 6:20, 5:55, 6:18, 6:24, 6:19, 6:06, 6:21, 6:25, 6:25, 6:39, .34

One more note. In the 2 years since I've run a serious road race people have started wearing these fat shoes that look like pancakes. I don't know how good they are but they look really slow and dorky.

That's a really - very good result all things considered Rob. Nice consistency in your splits too. Well done.

Thanks so much Bret. It was a mental battle today.

ogden '13 and '15 were the same way! crazy to have so many bad luck weather days over years.

sorry it was a tough day, but nice job racing through it for a good time. i hope you are warming up now. coffee, hot tub, maybe both at the same time.

Yes! 12 pm check out is nice. I did all that plus a nap. Heading home now. The bag pick-up wasn't ready when I finished and I had to stand there shaking and teeth chattering for almost 30 minutes. When I got to my car I was shaking uncontrollably. Had to wait for that to stop before I could drive!

Good race especially with the conditions. Hope you warm up...then have a beer!

Good run, sorry the weather was so bad.

Ogden seems to have good weather before and after, not during. Still a good time, and great news about your hip.

Congratulations Rob. I um ... started running the full but I was picked up by a Sheriff at the halfway point and taken to a fire station, shaking uncontrollably. There were 6 of us that got fire house treatment. Nasty!

Sorry about that Michael. When you're underdressed and not carrying much body fat, that is a real risk.Very hard to run a marathon when you're body is working so hard at temperature regulation.

I took a screenshot for your race report, and then went back to sleep!

Awesome race Rob. Good to see you have a good run.

Great race Rob! Someone needs to remove the weather curse from this race! I feel bad for the organizers, as the weather is really hurting their brand.

From Bob on Mon, May 23, 2016 at 12:47:19 from 163.191.36.14

Hey, a solid result given the combination of weather conditions and your age.

From Jason D on Wed, May 25, 2016 at 17:32:05 from 68.80.27.222

Good race, Rob. I'm guessing no Bjorkland half this year or yes? I know you have your trail race and I'm just guessing you timed the annual trip around that.
